sodium alginate (9005-38-3), light brown, fine powder, weak odor, melting point 99℃. It is soluble in water and insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, chloroform and dilute acid with pH less than 3. Dissolved in water to form a viscous liquid, the pH value of 1% aqueous solution is 6-8. When the pH is 4-10, the viscosity is stable. Sodium alginate is non-toxic. Used as thickener for reactive printing.
